Configure Price Book For Services And Materials


This tutorial guides you through setting up a price book for services and materials in DreamzCMMS. You will learn how to create, customize, and save a new price book to manage your service and material pricing effectively.



Overview


The Price Book feature in DreamzFSM allows you to define and manage pricing for your services and materials in one centralized location. You can create new price books with custom names, categories, service types, and financial details such as price, cost, and unit. Once saved, each price book can be reviewed, assigned a QR code, and referenced across estimates and work orders.

Steps to Configure a Price Book for Services and Materials


Step 1 – Navigate to Price Book


Click on Price Book to access the pricing management section.



Step 2 – Open Services and Materials


Click Services & Materials to view and manage service and material price entries.



Step 3 – Create a New Price Book


Click New Price Book to start creating a new pricing list.



Step 4 – Select Price Book Status


Select the status for the price book from options such as OK, Need Repair, Damaged, Deleted, Move Out (Sell), or Not Found.



Step 5 – Enter the Price Book Name


Click the Name field and enter a title to identify your price book (e.g., Kitchen Mixie).




Step 6 – Choose a Category


Select a category to classify the price book items. Available options include Appliances, Calibration Tool, Carpet Cleaning, Electrical, Installation, or Parts and Supplies.




Step 7 – Select the Service Type


Click to choose the Service Type from options such as Custom Services, Diagnose and Repair, Install, Repair, or Service Call, then fill in the selected service type to specify the nature of services included.




Step 8 – Fill in the Financial Tab


In the Financial tab, fill in the necessary details such as Price, Cost, Unit, and any other relevant financial information.




Step 9 – Save the Price Book


Click Save to store the new price book with all specified details.



Step 10 – View Price Book Details


Click Price Book Details to review the information and settings of the saved price book.



Step 11 – Display and Close the QR Code


Click Show QR Code to generate and view the QR code linked to the price book. Click × to close the QR code display and return to the price book details.




Step 12 – Return to the Price Book List


Click the Price Book List button to go back to the services and materials list. Your newly added material will now appear in the list.




Tips for Configuring the Price Book


  • Use clear and descriptive Price Book Names so technicians and dispatchers can quickly identify the correct pricing when building estimates or work orders.
  • Always assign the correct Category and Service Type to ensure price book items are properly classified and easy to filter when searching.
  • Complete the Financial tab accurately with price, cost, and unit details to ensure your estimates and invoices reflect the correct margins and totals.
  • Use the QR Code feature to quickly link physical assets or materials to their price book entry for faster field referencing.
  • After saving, always verify the entry appears correctly in the Services & Materials list by returning to the Price Book List view.
