Job Views in DreamzFSM

DreamzFSM gives you multiple ways to view and manage your jobs — Calendar, Kanban, Map, and Table/List. Each view is designed for a different purpose, whether you’re scheduling, dispatching, tracking progress, or auditing. Switch between views at any time using the view switcher to manage work the way that suits you best.

Overview

All job views are accessible from the Schedule section under the Jobs module. The view you choose does not affect the underlying data — it simply changes how jobs are presented on screen. Each view offers different tools for filtering, searching, and taking action on jobs, allowing you and your team to work in the format that best matches your current task.

How to Access Job Views

Step 1 – Navigate to Schedule

From the main menu, click Jobs, then click Schedule. The Jobs Schedule page will open, defaulting to the Calendar view.

Step 2 – Switch Between Views

On the top-left of the Schedule page, you will find a view switcher dropdown. Click it to switch between the four available views: Calendar, Kanban, Map, and Table/List.

The Four Job Views

Calendar View

The Calendar View gives you a visual schedule of jobs by day, week, or month with technician lanes. Jobs are colour-coded by status so you can instantly spot gaps in coverage, identify scheduling conflicts, and drag jobs to reschedule them. Click any job to open its full details and take action.

Best for: Scheduling, rescheduling, and day-to-day planning.

Kanban View

The Kanban View displays jobs as cards organised into columns by status — Draft, Open, Assigned, In Progress, Completed, and more. Drag cards between columns to update a job’s status instantly. Click any card to open the full job details and take further actions.

Best for: Tracking job progress, updating statuses, and managing workflow pipelines.

Map View

The Map View plots job sites and technician locations on a live map, giving you a geographical overview of your operations. Filter by technician, date, or facility to narrow the view. Assign jobs to technicians directly from the map based on their proximity to a job site — ideal for route planning and field dispatch.

Best for: Field dispatch, route planning, and location-based job assignment.

Table / List View

The Table/List View presents jobs in a spreadsheet-style format with powerful search, filters, and bulk actions. Every job appears as a row with key details displayed across columns. This view is best suited for reporting, auditing, exporting data, and making quick edits across multiple jobs at once.

Best for: Reporting, exports, audits, and bulk job management.

Tips for Using Job Views

  • Use Calendar View at the start of each day or week to identify scheduling gaps and ensure all technicians have jobs assigned.
  • Use Kanban View in team stand-ups or daily check-ins to quickly see where jobs are in the pipeline and what needs attention.
  • Use Map View when dispatching field technicians — assign jobs to the nearest available technician to reduce travel time and improve response speed.
  • Use Table View for end-of-day or end-of-week reporting, bulk status updates, and exporting job data for external review.
  • Your view preference is saved between sessions, so you will return to the same view each time you navigate to Schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does switching views affect my job data?
No. Switching between views only changes how the data is displayed on screen. All job details, statuses, and assignments remain unchanged regardless of which view you are using.

Can I drag and drop jobs in all views?
Drag and drop is available in the Calendar View (to reschedule jobs) and the Kanban View (to update job status). The Map and Table views do not support drag and drop.

Can I assign a job to a technician from the Map View?
Yes. The Map View allows you to assign jobs directly to technicians based on their location. Use the filters to narrow down by technician, date, or facility before assigning.

Can I export job data from the Table View?
Yes. The Table/List View supports exports and bulk actions, making it the most suitable view for generating reports or extracting job data for use outside DreamzFSM.

Can I filter jobs in all views?
Yes. All four views support filtering, though the available filter options may vary by view. The Table View offers the most powerful filtering and search capabilities.
